GIVING WORDS TO IMAGINATION

Rahi – the Thief

Rahi - the Thief

Rahi was a ten-year-old girl who lived in the city of Guwahati, which was surrounded by hills. Her eyes were black, her skin was light and she had brown hair. She liked to wear long frocks. She had a bad habit of stealing things from the malls. Whenever she visited a mall, she would hide a hair accessory or a nail paint bottle in her pocket and bring that home. Then, she would carefully put away that thing in her almirah so that her parents did not notice her.

One day, her mother went with her to the mall. When her mother was buying makeup, Rahi accidentally dropped a nail paint bottle while she was stealing. Her mother saw her stealing and scolded her in front of everyone in the mall. Her mother had to pay for the nail paint bottle. The next day, she went to the mall with her friends and continued with her habit again. She was roaming with her friends in the mall. She again took a nail paint bottle. The manager saw that a nail paint bottle was missing from the shop. The manager told the other manager to manage the shop because she was going to check the CCTV camera. The manager of the shop saw the camera and informed the police about the incident.

The police came to the mall and searched for the thief. Then they saw Rahi and ran after her. Rahi’s friends ran and told her mother everything. Her mother was very angry when she heard that.

Her mother said to her, “Why did you steal again?”

“I was just checking the nail paint and the police took me from there,” said Rahi.

“Tell me the truth or otherwise I will check the CCTV camera of the mall,” said her mother.

“Don’t check the CCTV camera. I will tell you the truth,” said Rahi.

“Okay, tell me, what is the truth?” asked her mother.

“The truth is that I stole a nail paint bottle from the shop,” said Rahi.

The police finally sent Rahi to the reform house. While she was kept in the reform house for a few months, she stopped stealing things and then she was released from the reform house. Her mother came to pick her up from there. From then on, she never stole anything from the mall and always spoke the truth to her mother.
